It’s that time of year again! Whether you’re sharing a bottle of bubbles with the one you love, cuddled up on the sofa, binging Netflix, or preparing a special meal and need that perfect bottle of red, here at The Crafty Vintner, we’ve got you covered...
Chateau Tour Pibran Cru Bourgeois Pauillac AOC
This gorgeous Bordeaux is a blend of 60% Merlot and 40% Cabernet Sauvignon. It appears as an inviting dark ruby, with a fine aroma of red fruits like cherry and strawberry, and some slight hints of oak, and even some blossom! The palate is full, round, and seductive. The tannins are supple and persistent, providing a spicy length and balanced finish. Serve this with steak or Asian inspired dished like aromatic duck.
If you prefer a lighter red, this could be your wine soulmate! A light, garnet colour, this wine beckons you with aromas of dried spice, and fresh fruit. The palate is cranberry and redcurrant that develops into a well-rounded finish. A gorgeous glass by itself, this wine would pair excellently with salmon, or a roast chicken dinner. It would also be very welcome with a cheeseboard.
This is a Sauvignon Blanc with a real personality. The aromas of this pale, lemon-yellow coloured wine are complex, and a little surprising. Lemon and lime are brought to life with tropical flavours of pineapple and mango, which are echoed in the zingy fresh, and rich palate. It has an elegant and long finish. It would be a lovely pairing with seafood dishes or lemon-herb chicken.
This wine from New Zealand is vegan, vegetarian, organic and gluten free. A complex bouquet of guava, lime and peach are accompanied by hints of toasted hazelnut and flint. The palate has gorgeous texture, reminiscent of praline, with a taught acidity that keeps everything in balance. There is a great depth to this wine, and a lovely finish. This would be a great accompaniment to risotto or grilled salmon.
One of our most popular rosés all year round, this Italian wine made from a blend Corvina, Trebbiano di Lugana, Syrah, and Carmenere grapes is bursting with red berry flavours, guaranteed to brighten up your day. This rose-coloured wine has gorgeous, delicate, floral aromas with great structure and mouth-watering acidity, making it a great aperitif.
This edition of the classic champagne house has a little more residual sugar left behind after fermentation than the classic brut. This gives Nocturne a lovely, full, rich body and flavour that is at once comforting and exciting. The French like to enjoy this bottle of sparkles at the end of a meal with petit fours so it would be a great way to finish off a special meal with a special someone.
