This Merlot-dominant blend from Pomerol is the top wine, or ‘Grand Vin', of the Chateau de Sales. Round and full-bodied, the palate is seduced by this wine’s balance, its fine tannins as well as its elegant finish that combines woody notes and a pleasant freshness.
You can expect a plush wine, savoury and full-bodied, with bright notes of redcurrant and raspberry, silky tannins and a long finish. It’s drinking brilliantly now so enjoy it with herb-crusted rack of lamb.

Château de Sales is the largest estate in the Pomerol appellation and has been in the hands of the same family since 1464. Expertise has been passed down through the generations for over 500 years. So it's fair to say they know a thing or two about creating great claret.
Under the same family ownership since the 1400s, wine was not produced at the property until the late 1700s. The largest vineyard site in Pomerol at nearly 50 hectares, planted very rarely in one continguous parcel with a majority Merlot and a little of each Cabernet. There remain another 45 hectares left as forest and parkland.
