Chateau de Lascaux Garrigue Languedoc

Château de Lascaux gets its origins from the Cavalier family. From some 20 hectares when I took over in 1984, it has grown to its present size of almost 85 hectares of vines surrounded by 300 hectares of garrigue scrub.

The wine is made up of 75% Syrah, 20% Grenache and 5% Mourvèdre. Aged in tanks for 14 months before bottling no filtration is applied so as to retain maximum character. No added sulphites from harvest to bottling.

Genuinely garrigue-scented and fresh. It may be a full-bodied 14% red wine made from full-bodied varieties in the sun-blessed region of Pic St-Loup in Languedoc, but the hallmark of this wine is approachability and freshness.
